Study Groups

Join our focused study groups designed to help you succeed with the Four Generation Project and Written Exams.

Four Generation Project Study Group

Offered twice a year, each group is limited to 12 participants. Seven meeting sessions are held over a four-month period via Zoom. Applications are accepted year-round, with the full schedule and details provided upon acceptance.

Study Group Benefits

  • One-on-one mentoring as you refine one generation of your project
  • Personalized feedback from peers and an AG® Study Group Mentor
  • Step-by-step guidance for assembling your research log, pedigree chart, family group sheets, and document file

Application Requirements

  • Obtain most of the experience in your selected accreditation region as listed on the Accreditation Readiness Assessment
  • Complete most of the research for all four generations of your project
  • Show high-intermediate to advanced research and report-writing skills

Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. If an application is accepted and the study group is full, accepted applicants will be considered for the next study group. Email studygroup@icapgen.org for more information on preparing your application packet. We recommend requesting the application information and submitting your application well ahead of the deadline.

Deadlines:

  • November 1st – The group runs from early January to early May the following year
  • June 1st – The group runs from mid-July to mid-November

Fee: $200.00 USD

Test Prep Study Group

Offered twice a year, this group meets in five sessions over nine weeks via Zoom. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants to ensure meaningful interaction and personalized support. Applications are accepted year-round, and additional details are provided upon acceptance.

Application Requirements

  • You must have passed the Four Generation Project
  • OR completed a Four Generation Study Group AND submitted your project

Eligibility is on a first-come, first-served basis. If a group is full at the time of your application, you’ll be considered for the next available session.

Deadlines:

  • March 15th – The group runs from early April to early June
  • September 1st – The group runs from mid-September to mid-November
