Scheduling & Fees

ICAPGen™ offers regularly scheduled on-site testing days at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, several times yearly. Testing Dates for 2026:

  • Friday, February 27th–Saturday, February 28th
  • Friday, June 5th–Saturday, June 6th
  • Friday, October 9th–Saturday October 10th

Candidates may arrange custom-scheduled testing dates at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City for an additional fee. Candidates who prefer not to travel to Salt Lake City may arrange for custom-scheduled exams at a facility near their home. Please contact the ICAPGen testing secretary (te***************@*****en.org) to be added to the testing schedule or to arrange custom-scheduled exams before paying any fees. See the table below for the current testing fees.

If an applicant cannot pass an accreditation phase after two attempts, they must wait for twelve months before trying again. During this time, the applicant should follow suggestions from the Four Generation Application Committee or the Testing Committee and seek mentoring to address their shortcomings before being eligible for another attempt.

Annual Accredited Genealogist® Professional Maintenance Fees

After earning the Accredited Genealogist® credential, AG® Professionals pay an annual maintenance fee of $80 each January. Those holding credentials in two or more regions pay an additional $20 per year, which covers all additional regions. AG® Professionals who have also earned the Accredited Genealogist Lecturer™ credential pay an additional $20 annual fee along with the regular maintenance fees.
