Tracy has been a genealogy enthusiast since 1998, working on her own Southern brick walls in Tennessee and South Carolina. She quickly moved on to her own research with her Italian, Danish, Jewish, Southern and English ancestors. She has taken classes at Brigham Young University specializing in the Southern United States and United Kingdom. She started taking private clients in 2007. As a professional genealogist, she specialized in unique cases, such as Southern brick wall, African American, Caribbean, unknown parentage, lineage society or genealogy family mysteries.

Tracy Zappala is accredited for research in the United States Mid-south Region and African American research. Her work has appeared on programs in the United States such as “Who Do you think You Are?” Where she was the lead researcher for celebrities Regina King and Alison Janney. She has also, worked internationally on BBC programs to discover Windrush ancestral migration to the United Kingdom. Previously employed by Ancestry, she now runs a bespoke genealogy consulting and research project.
