Biography:

I have been researching family history for 22 years. My paternal roots come from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia, and I love the research challenges the southern states pose. The forensic cases I work on give me experience and proficiency in other areas of U.S. research and across the borders into Mexico and Canada. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from Brigham Young University and love to research, teach genealogy classes, lecture, and coach others in overcoming research challenges. I currently run a citation course called Genealogy Source Citations Simplified to help aspiring genealogists cite their sources. I am a member of the National Genealogical Society, the North Carolina Genealogical Society, and the Utah Genealogical Society. In the past, I have worked on repatriation cases for the DPAA (Defense POW-MIA Accounting Agency) as a research fellow at Brigham Young University and participated with Firebird Forensics, solving criminal cases for law enforcement.
