Pilat, Tadeusz Hubert
Teddy since high school knew that genealogy was his real passion. He wanted to study genealogy but unfortunately none of universities offered this occupation, so he choose Library studies which allowed him to be as close to genealogy as possible. During his studies he also focused on the interesting topics of the history of books and old documents. It taught him that a wide range of documents exist which can be used by genealogists. In 2001 he found the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists which was perfect for what he wanted to achieve. For two years he prepared for the credential which he presented to ICAPGen representatives in 2003 in Salt Lake City. Finally, he was granted the title of an Accredited Genealogist® professional specializing in the research of Poland. Because Information Science is also his specialization, he is very interested in creating electronic databases. Some of the records have been extracted into the International Genealogical Index (IGI) but that is but a small fraction of what is possible. He is involved in several genealogical extraction projects. Teddy Pilat is accredited for research in Poland.
