Note: Some professionals are accredited in regions that are no longer offered or in regions that have been reconfigured. Their accreditations have been grandfathered. This is no reflection on the professionals as they are equally accredited.
Fisher, Therese
Therese Fisher is accredited for research in the United States Mid-South Region, Upper South Region and the Gulf South Region. Specializing in the Mid South and Gulf South with on location research. I have been a professional researcher since 1973. I have been a member of ICAPGen since its inception in 1997. I am a licensed private investigator in Mississippi. I have been a forensic genealogist for the Department of the Army and Air Force since 2000. I have compiled nine books on marriages in Virginia and authored a book on murders that occurred along the Rappahannock River using court records and newspaper articles. I am the genealogist who discovered that the first harbor master for the port of Norfolk, VA was buried under a parking lot. My areas of accreditation include the fifteen states that comprised the original South Region ie; Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma. Thanks to my work with the Department of Defense, I have researched in nearly every state in the United States. I have worked on courthouse records and/or in state archives on site in every state in my regions of accreditation except Florida. I was part of the group that organized the Fredericksburg (VA) Regional Genealogical Society.
