Champenois, Charlotte Noelle
Charlotte Noelle Champenois, a native of Denmark and a long-time resident of Utah, is accredited in Germany Northwest, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, and Switzerland and is an Accredited Genealogist Lecturer (AGL). She earned a BA in Family History–Genealogy and German Studies (with minors in Editing and Scandinavian Studies) from Brigham Young University. She has presented at IGGC, FGS, SGGS, RootsTech, SDGS GIG, FEEFHS, and the FamilySearch Library (formerly the Family History Library).
For almost six years, Charlotte worked as a German and Nordic Research Specialist at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah (see her FamilySearch profile at https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/User:Julegodtel7), and she currently works as a Germanic Technical Historical Records Linguist. She is also an Associate Records Analyst for the German Immigrants in American Church Records (GIACR) project, a transcription and translation assistant for Germanology Unlocked, and a freelance genealogist and translator. She has co-published a book (Austrian Family History Research: Sources and Methodologies) and a couple of genealogical articles and has collaborated on eighteen GIACR volumes.
Charlotte is a native Danish speaker and an advanced German paleographer, and she regularly works with records in German and Danish. She also periodically works with genealogical records in Latin, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, and French.
